1. How do I get access to the equipment?

The equipment in SIGL is available to students at the University of Queensland and external collaborators who have undergone the appropriate training. Use of equipment may entail a fee and requires a pre-approved short outline of your project.

2. Can I come along and have a look at the facilities?

Yes, you can organise a time with the Laboratory Manager. SIGL also holds tours for school students at certain times of the year.

3. How much does it cost?

In addition to faculty support for basic operational costs, analysis fees are paid by individual users. These differ between systems. Please contact the Laboratory Manager for more information on analysis fee charges. For grant applications, please contact the Laboratory Manager for updated costs.

4. Can I perform analyses for my research?

Yes you can, with the appropriate training.
The Laboratory Manager can assist you with analysis selection and to advise you on your project. Normal academic rules and etiquette apply to authorship and the acknowledgement of collaborations in publications.
